A cashless ticket purchase system in preparation

25.3.2026

Installation of validators in public transport vehicles begins.

The validators are being installed in vehicles gradually: they will be installed in trams as a priority, and in the next phase in buses. The devices are permanently placed in the middle door area.

Validators in public transport vehicles are not yet in operation, and therefore it is not possible to make cashless payments.
They are currently being installed in individual vehicles. After completion, trial operation will begin.

The expected launch of the system is planned for September 2026.

How will it be possible to buy a ticket at a validator?

Quick purchase without choice

  • By simply touching your payment card to the terminal, you will receive an electronic (paperless) ticket for 25 CZK.
  • The ticket is valid for 40 minutes on weekdays or 60 minutes on weekends.
  • One-day fare cap.
  • This ticket is valid only on DPMO lines.
  • The ticket is stored on the payment card used.
  • During the inspection, the passenger identifies himself by touching it to the inspector's reader.
  • When exiting, the payment card is not presented to the terminal.

Electronic tickets only DPMO

This option allows you to:

  • purchase multiple tickets on one payment card for additional passengers or discounted fares
  • choose discounted fares (juniors 6–18 years, luggage, dog)

Tickets:

valid only on DPMO lines

individual tickets:  25 / 12 CZK
24hour tickets: 90 / 45 CZK

Paper tickets (DPMO and IDSOK)

This option allows you to:

  • purchase multiple tickets that will be printed - possibility to transfer between IDSOK lines
  • use transfer tickets for other carriers in the IDSOK system

Tickets:

valid on DPMOlines and on IDSOKlines

individutal tickets: 25 / 12 CZK
24hour tickets: 90 / 45 CZK
2-zone tickets: 37 / 11 CZK
3-zone tickets: 46 / 16 CZK

If you choose a paper ticket (via the 2nd button), the passenger will present a printed ticket (not a payment card) during the check.

The paper ticket contains a QR code for transferring to other carriers in IDSOK (for checking when boarding through the front door by suburban bus drivers or conductors on ČD trains).

Card information

After inserting the payment card, the terminal displays:

  • overview of purchased electronic tickets
  • remaining validity period

Ticket check

  • Electronic ticket: you present your payment card
  • Paper ticket: you present a printed ticket

The paper ticket contains a QR code, which is used for checking when transferring to other carriers in the IDSOK system (e.g. for suburban bus drivers or conductors on ČD trains).

Daily fare cap

Daily fare cap limits the maximum amount that a passenger can pay for individual tickets during one calendar day from 0:00 to 23:59 when paying with the same payment card in a validator.

Once the total fare paid during the day reaches the set limit, the passenger no longer pays for further journeys on that day.

⚠️If you plan to travel, for example, in the evening one day and in the morning the next day, it may be more advantageous to purchase a 24-hour ticket from the electronic ticket offer.

Maximum daily prices (example)

  • Full fare: max. 90 CZK / day.
  • Discounted fare: max. 45 CZK / day.

After reaching this amount, further journeys on that day are no longer charged.

However, it is necessary to use the same payment medium throughout the day, i.e.

  • the same physical payment card,
  • the same NFC payment medium (mobile phone, watch, ring).

⚠️ Attention:
The physical card and its version in the mobile or watch create a different digital token in the system.
If you alternate between the physical card and the mobile/watch during the day, the system considers them as two different cards and the daily cap may not be applied correctly.

Buying tickets for fellow passengers
The system also allows you to buy tickets for fellow passengers.

  • The number of fellow passengers can be changed for each ride.
  • The daily cap is evaluated separately for each passenger.

When is the cap evaluated
The evaluation takes place at night after the end of the calendar day.

Payment settlement

Mastercard

  • The amount of CZK 1 may be blocked on the first ride.
  • After the day is evaluated, it is replaced by the actual fare price.
  • The final transaction may be visible in 3-7 days (transactions are combined).

Visa

  • The amount for the whole day is settled once a day.
  • The CZK 1 blocking is not used.
  • In online banking, the final amount for the whole day is displayed.
  • The payment is usually deducted the following afternoon.
